Job Title: QA Engineer (Performance) II

Job Description:
Looking for a Digital Render TD to support our rendering infrastructure and provide basic help desk and IT support to the SDG team at multiple locations. The ideal candidate plays a critical role in cross functional department collaboration to plan, submit, manage, prioritize, organize, resolve issues, and deliver multiple synthetic data render jobs on time. The individual should have technical cloud and local render farm experience for CGI offline and/or real time environments for delivering synthetic data to build software solutions for next generation products.
responsible for designing and implementing performance tests for highly scalable, multi-brand eCommerce platform. The individual will work closely with product management, software developers and system engineers to understand requirements and participate in design discussions Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests of business tools, third party applications and consumer-facing eCommerce applications. Design, orchestrate and analyze load tests using a variety of load testing tools (e.g. Mercury LoadRunner), statistics and analysis techniques. Effectively communicate analysis of performance test results, bottlenecks, sizing guidelines, and recommend improvements for Java applications and database specific issues. Manage and execute build and deploy activities for performance testing environment.
Required Skills:
BA in Digital Media / BS or MS in Computer Science / Equivalent industry experience
Experience in automated performance, scalability, and stress testing of highly scalable - eCommerce systems using industry performance tools, e.g. Mercury LoadRunner. - Experience in capacity planning for large scale systems. - Strong system engineering skill.

  • 3+ years of render farm management experience in feature film and/or VFX
  • Experience managing, prioritizing, submitting, monitoring, trouble shooting, reporting, and auditing render quality and quantity of multiple render jobs
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and identify opportunities to optimize network rendering resources for optimal performance
  • Track and report resource utilization such as disk space, node usage, job saturation, etc.
  • Experience managing server file space by deleting, backing up, and restoring prior render files
  • Familiarity with networking and distributed computing, including network file systems, routing and subnetting
  • Effectively respond and communicate to rendering-related support requests and issues
  • Work with other engineers and artists to address support tickets and errors
  • Experience administrating OSX, Windows, and LINUX operating systems
  • Familiar setting up employee user accounts, workstations, monitors, etc.
  • Knowledge of a production management system or asset management system
  • General knowledge of off-line rendering pipelines (VRay), and real-time engines
  • Experience with Maya, Python, and Linux Additional experience
  • Self-managed and motivated to manage and prioritize time and workload
  • Extremely detail oriented, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt to a high pressure, fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Able to learn new software, pipeline, and procedures quickly
  • Experience working with R&D team to develop tools to support production
  • Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication skills
  • Working with external development teams
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment for installation and relocation tasks
  • Analytical and strong problem-solving skills
