Make a contribution to Green Energy with your automation engineering experience! Our stellar team has made Nor-Cal Controls the #1 UTILITY-SCALE solar PV controls integration company in the country!
You can make an impact by maximizing your controls, SCADA and AUTOMATION talent and capabilities. Are you detailed-oriented and quality-minded? Do you like working on multiple projects at a time? Do you enjoy serving customers? Are you a team player who will do whatever it takes to get projects done on schedule with high quality?
As an Automation Engineer, you will design and run your own projects from start to finish. You will build a complete SCADA HMI program. You will work with a variety of devices to interface with communication protocols and conversion methods. Our engineers develop control logic and understand the power generation process – including megawatt control, automatic volt regulation, and breaker and cap control to name a few.
You will receive training the “Nor-Cal Way.” You will identify gaps in scope, obtain information and draft RFIs to perform your scope of work. You may make trips to project sites for pre-commissioning, commissioning and troubleshooting (but much of our work is performed with remote access). You will work well alone but will not hesitate to seek in-house knowledge when needed (in a helpful, team-sharing environment).
We most commonly integrate GE RX3i, SEL RTAC, and Emerson Ovation controllers. The HMI software we frequently use is GE Cimplicity and Inductive Automation Ignition.
The successful Automation Engineer will be able to:
Meet Nor-Cal Controls Core Values
Respond to customer emails or calls during work hours 100% of the time within two hours
Complete a project as Lead Engineer within first three to six months of employment
Identify a process problem and solution, successfully implemented within first year of employment
If this describes you AND you have a BS in Engineering (Computer Engineering, Electrical or similar) or equivalent experience AND SCADA/automation experience (preferably in power or energy-related industry) AND you are ready to make a difference, apply to Nor-Cal now!
