Senior Systems Engineer for Morphology Control
A Silicon Valley stealth stage startup has the following opportunity:
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer and Program Manager for Morphology Control
Our company is developing next-generation carbon-based products for a variety of applications. The suitable candidate will be part of the Engineering Team, working with the Product Development Team. He/She will work closely with Product Development to design and deliver hardware for experimental process development with an eye on techniques to expand the experimental processes into mass production processes. Eventually, the candidate will be responsible for extending the knowledge learned during the experimental phase and design and deliver hardware for the production phase.
The candidate will be responsible for developing creative solutions to challenging issues associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for new and existing thermal and microwave production engines. The successful candidate will possess solid “hands-on” technical abilities, an excitement and energy for continued production tool development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting production timelines and needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and build novel systems for R&D and production tools.
Project supervision of external contractors
Execute design changes including change impact assessments, risk assessments and regression testing assessment, etc.
Investigate and close issues or weakness that arise in all tool sets.
Resolve systems-related technical issues by applying problem solving tools such as cause and effect diagrams, Pareto charts, etc.
Resolve competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver quality production needs.
Ensure production needs are captured, quality requirements are met and technical risks are mitigated including all needed regulatory requirements needed to meet code marking.
Document traceability from requirements to verification activities, and from requirements to design entities.
Communicate design requirements and provide technical guidance to suppliers as needed.
Development and documentation of the product systems architecture and systems level design, including the decomposition of the system architecture and requirements into subsystem and interface specifications.
Execute system and mechanical management activities for our products.
Manage integration of deliverables from sub-system design teams and external partners.
Plan and execute system integration activities to minimize issues in systems validation.
Develop test plans, test protocols, and test reports for product integration testing.
Develop and maintain an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
